Emergency Tarmac Delay Contingency Plan -- Huntington Tri-State Airport

The Tri-State Airport Authority is required to prepare and post an approved emergency Tarmac Delay Contingency Plan pursuant to §42301 of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Modernization and Reform Act of 2012. This plan describes how, following excessive tarmac delays and to the extent practicable, the Tri-State Airport Authority will:

  • Provide for the deplanement of passengers;
  • Provide for the sharing of facilities and make gates available at the airport; and
  • Provide a sterile area following excessive tarmac delays for passengers who have not yet cleared United States Customs & Border Protection (CBP).

In addition to the procedures outlined in this document, all other agencies should follow their own guidelines for ensuring the safety of their personnel and the public.

Questions regarding this plan can be directed to the Airport Operations Manager, at (304)453-6165 ext. 320.
